DOES SIZE REALLY MATTER??

GET YOUR MIND OUT OF THE GUTTER!!! I'm talking about CLOTHING SIZE!!!

I know what you were thinking ??!  Glam Authority is in Houston, TX a.k.a. THE FATTEST CITY IN AMERICA. Yes, we like home cooking and I'm sure you've heard the phrase "EVERYTHING's BIGGER IN TEXAS"...well that means larger portions of comfort food too.  It's very acceptable for girls in our area to be a bit bigger in the thighs, all that beef from cattle has to go somewhere, right?  I don't mean to say "ALL" people here are heavy or unhealthy, to the contrary actually...many are very aware of their diets...me included, but that doesn't mean I am a size 0.

It seems it is more common than ever that women are removing the size tag, as well as Label/Brand tags from their garments.  This is a BIG NO-NO FOR ReSALE.  This helps to communicate valuable information to a buyer when you're ready to consign. Women remove tags from their clothing for various reasons, but mostly because they don't want friends, dry cleaners, or their significant other to know their true size, brand tags are removed because it tends to reveal how much the item cost.(Ladies we don't want our husbands finding out how much we're spending..shhhh)

I realize we are all different, and some of us feel we have to remove the tags.  If this is you, my suggestion is to take pictures of the item with all the tags intact, this way if you decide to consign later, bring the pictures, your items won't be rejected, due to lack of size/brand proof !

EXCELLENCE IS A HABIT! Alexander McQueen

EXCELLENCE IS A HABIT!  In this new blog series we explore FASHION EXCELLENCE.  It's a way to express my undying devotion to my (and I'm sure your) favorite Designers EVER!  Since this is the kick off, I had to start way up high on my list.  THIS ONE IS AT THE VERY PEAK!  I try not to be more partial to any of the Designers in the series(I LOVE THEM ALL EQUALLY, yet DIFFERENTLY) but some have really moved me.  In the months to come you will see one amazing designer after another but, it just felt right to start this series with Alexander McQueen,   you know what I mean?

This fashion house is NEVER subtle, NEVER un-original, NEVER bashful,  and more importantly they NEVER-EVER-EVER-DISAPPOINT their fashion fans.  I'm sure you'll agree, they give us dashing design, intricate detailing, and true imagination in every piece.  Not many designers can create museum quality garments that can be worn everyday, but IMO, Alexander McQueen does just that. You don't have to take my word for it countless editorials(like this one or this one)and fashion meccas have held McQueen to the highest esteem for years.  I believe McQueen's garments are some of the loveliest frocks ever conceptualized.  Just in case you still don't agree? KATE SPADE EVENT with Brad Goreski

OK, I'm trying really hard to hold back my excitement!  I want to be calm & collected, so I can give you every morsel of the delectable details from the KATE SPADE event at Nordstrom-Houston last Thursday evening.  Before I burst, let me just say I sooooooo <3 the Fall Collection from Kate Spade.  It was like a DOT-A-PALOOZA.  The colors were classics; Red, Black, Green, & White, but the designs & silhouettes were a perfect merger of Modern & Vintage.  I was in awe of the way the fabrics played so well with the shapes of the garments.  Now, Lets talk about those dots!  You will find polka-dots throughout the Kate Spade Fall Collection on everything from Coats to Pantyhose, plus polka-dots are one of the most flattering patterns ever!  I think every girl looks great in polka-dots. Those dots made the fashion show that much more inspiring.  Did you miss that?? I said "FASHION SHOW"!

I fully expected to show up to the event and simply mingle and look through the pieces with the Nordstrom sales ladies, but KATE SPADE doesn't roll like that...The BIG GUNS showed up: Deborah Lloyd, Creative Director & President of Kate Spade & none other than BRAD GORESKI, Kate Spade Exclusive Brand Stylist & star of  his own BRAVO show, It's a  BRAD BRAD World.  These two definitely upped the events' awesomeness about 1000%.
